 - The Friends of Tewkesbury Abbey have just published Tewkesbury Abbey: The Stained Glass Windows by Richard K. Morris and R. L. J. Smith. The famous
mid-fourteenth-century clerestory windows with representations of members of the de Clare
family wearing armour
and heraldic surcoats are among those described and illustrated. Copies are available

 - The rose windows of Lincoln, Chartres and Reims are among the most famous
medieval works of art in the world. A lavishly illustrated book by Painton Cowan devoted
exclusively to rose windows has been

 - Michael Cothren’s Picturing the Celestial City: the
Medieval Stained Glass of Beauvais Cathedral has been published by Princetown University Press.
Professor Cothren is a leading expert on the glass at Beauvais, and his book traces the
glazing of the cathedral
through four successive campaigns bridging the century between 1240s and the 1340s. Priced
₤55, the book has 288
pages and includes many photographs.

glass, including the ‘Prikke of Conscience’ window, and other windows illustrating the Corporal Acts of Mercy
