Jan Van Damme

23 April 1957 – 21 December 2021

It is with regret that we note the death of Jan Van Damme in December. Jan was an art historian and a much-appreciated member of the Flemish committee associated with the Belgian Corpus Vitrearum since 1998, when the committee was established.

Jan was a co-author of the recent book discussed in this edition’s exhibition review: Stoning of St Paul and Scourging of St Paul: Designs by Abraham van Diepenbeeck (1596-1675) for a Series of Stained Glass Windows in St Paul’s Church in Antwerp. By Madeleine Manderyck, Jan Van Damme and Zsuzsanna van Ruyven-Zeman. Phoebus Focus, XXII, 2021.
