Issue 96

In addition to our news round-up, we have a review of Sally Badham’s Seeking Salvation, which examines late-medieval approaches to death and the afterlife, and the ways in which people had themselves commemorated: there is much on stained glass, wall-painting and sculpture. We also have a feature on a fascinating aspect of stained glass in Britain in the early nineteenth century: the setting of Continental roundels on decorative backgrounds. Catherine Spirit looks at the east window of the Church of St Peter in Nowton (Suffolk) and the growing influence of sepulchral brasses.
